My dear Subhasis,
I could not write to you as I was out of the station for a few days. I, along with two of my classmates went to Delhi for a week. We observed a lot of spots of historic importance and relics of the past. We visited the Red Fort, the Dewani-Khas or the hall of private Audiences, the Kutub Minar, the Rang Mahal, etc. We saw Jumma Masjid which is one of the largest and most beautiful mosques in Asia. We visited the Dewaniam where the Mughal Emperors used to hold their court. Many a story of love and heroism, of bloodshed and cruelty, stood before us at the time of viewing the capital city of India. We saw innumerable ruins here and there that we had
read about in our history book. It left a fantastic impression on my mind. Before our visit, we had studied a complete map of Delhi, the museum of history. Having seen the aforesaid items we were overwhelmed with joy. Further particulars may be given in the next letter. Write to me soon. With love.
