Mother Mary Teresa Bojaxhiu (মেরি টেরিজা বোজাঝিউ) was honoured in the Catholic Church as Saint Teresa of Calcutta, was an Albanian-Indian Roman Catholic nun and missionary.

MOTHER TERESA
Mother Teresa was a great humanist (a) of India, nay, the world. She was born on August 2 in 1910 in Albania in Yugoslavia. Her original name was Agnes. She was educated at the Government school in Albania. Mother arrived at Kolkata in 1928 for some missionary works. In Kolkata, she became a teacher of geography in a convent school. Later she dedicated herself to the services of the suffering humanity. For this purpose, she set up the Missionaries of Charity. As a recognition of her contribution, she was awarded the Nobel Prize for peace in 1979. Moreover, the Bharat Ratna, the highest Indian award was conferred on her in 1980. Her lifestyle was very simple and modest. She was averse to any kind of publicity. In fact, she was a silent worker. For her humanitarian service, everybody called her 'Mother'. This great lady passed away on September 5, 1997. Her demise moved the whole world.
