A clock or a timepiece is a device used to measure and indicate time. The clock is one of the oldest human inventions, meeting the need to measure intervals of time shorter than the natural units: the day, the lunar month, and the year. Devices operating on several physical processes have been used over the millennia.
Describe a clock. Mention its different parts what are called the different parts, how they work, its usefulness.
A CLOCK
A clock is a small machine. It gives us time. It consists of many fine parts. All parts are made of steel. It has a flat and round dial. This dial is called its face. On the dial, there are numbers in English or in Roman figures. It has two hands. One hand is shorter than the other. The short one is called hour hand. The other one is the minute hand. It has a pendulum to keep the clock in motion. The pendulum gives up a mid sound. A clock is a very useful thing.
