A WINDY DAY
A windy day rouses a terror in the minds of all. A few days ago, I experienced an awful windy day. The weather was foul from the beginning of the day. Black clouds gathered in the eastern sky and the sun was not seen. The wind began to blow and gradually it began to be stronger and stronger. It began to rain in torrents. Lightning flashed and thunders roared. Driven by the wind the branches of trees started lashing the air like whips Leaves, dust, trees were racing all around. Houses were levelled to the ground. The standing crops and bamboo groves were violently tossed. The water of the pond was terribly agitated. The straw-built houses, corrugated sheets of many houses and the branches of trees were swept away so fast that no one could open his eyes. Pushed by the wind the gates of houses flew open and closed. People were running about for shelter and the cattle ran into their sheds out of fear. When I think of it, I still remember it quite vividly.
