A letter to your Head of the Department of English stating your difficulties in learning English.
Sir,
It is kind of you to ask me to write to you about my difficulties in learning English. The main difficulty in learning English is that in our daily life we have nothing to do with English. We use our own language which differs from English in many respects. Its style has a peculiarity of its own. So I find great difficulty in mastering it. Even though, in our school days, in Madhyamik and H. S. Classes.
Again, in English grammar, I find many rules which are so difficult and intricate that I cannot understand them in spite of my best efforts. I often commit ludicrous mistakes in the use of articles, sequence of tenses and uses of prepositions. Whenever I try to express my ideas in English, I realise my weakness. My stock of words being very poor, I do not find suitable words, nor can I write correct sentences in English. I have been trying my best to make up for my deficiency.
I shall be obliged if you kindly suggest some books I should read to get over my difficulties. With my best regards to you,
Yours obediently,
Kamal Kumar Das
