Dear Akhilesh
I can not write any letter to you for a few weeks as I was busy fighting the menace of malaria in our locality. However, I am quite well now and pray to God the same for you.
Now I am writing to you about how we fought against the menace of malaria. Malaria, a dangerous disease broke out in different districts of West Bengal and largely in Calcutta and Howrah in the first week of November. It was not possible to fight against malaria alone for the state health department. So the employees of the health department and the members of our club worked jointly. At first, we hospitalised the patients who were suffering from malaria. Then we tried to destroy the mosquito generation. To destroy mosquito eggs we sprayed medicine in every mosquito-infested area. Malaria mosquito breeds in accumulated clean water. So we advised people that drinking water and offer foods should always be carefully covered; if anybody suffers from fever, he should consult a doctor immediately and get his blood examined.
