Durga Puja
Festivals tone up a sagging mind. They are a source of entertainment and pleasure. So I am fond of festivals. Of all festivals, Durga puja is the grandest of all. It is held in autumn. Durga is the goddess of power. She and her children are worshipped for three days. Puja pandals are tastefully decorated and illuminated. Men, women and children like me dressed in their best go to see the images and pandals. On the fourth and final day, the images are immersed in ponds and rivers. I like Durga puja the best for this festival rings in a happy occasion of family reunion. It conjures up an image of complete happiness.
