A village fair removes the rust of life As a village boy, I enjoy fairs and festivals Last winter, I went to a village fair with my father. It was held in an open ground at Mangalpur, at Kusgmandi Thana. A large crowd of men, women and children flocked there. Many stalls were set up in rows. The stalls were selling dolls, toys, pots, etc. A magician ran a small booth. The sweetmeat shops and merry-go-round were big attractions to the children like me. I enjoyed a ride on a round whereas my parents enjoyed the puppet show. There was a circus party at the corner of the fair.

We had a lot of fun in the fair. We returned home, tired but happy.

গ্রামের মেলা

গ্রামের ছেলে হিসাবে গ্রামের মেলা জীবনের নোংরা সরিয়ে দেয়। গত শীতকালে আমি মেলা এবং উত্সব উপভোগ করি। আমি বাবার সাথে একটি গ্রামে মেলায় গিয়েছিলাম। এটি কুশমণ্ডি থানার মঙ্গলপুরে একটি উন্মুক্ত মাঠে অনুষ্ঠিত হয়েছিল। পুরুষ, মহিলা ও শিশুদের একটি বিশাল ভিড় সেখানে ভিড় করে। সারি সারি স্টল বসানো হয়েছিল। স্টলগুলিতে পুতুল, খেলনা, হাঁড়ি ইত্যাদি বিক্রি হত। একজন যাদুকর একটি ছোট বুথ চালালেন। আমার মতো বাচ্চাদের কাছে সুইট মিট শপস এবং ম্যারি-গো রাউন্ড বড় আকর্ষণ ছিল। আমি একটি রাউন্ডে যাত্রা উপভোগ করেছি যেখানে আমার বাবা-মা পুতুল শো উপভোগ করেছেন। মেলার কোণে একটি সার্কাস পার্টি ছিল। মেলায় আমরা খুব মজা পেলাম। আমরা ক্লান্ত তবে খুশি ঘরে ফিরেছি।

A VILLAGE FAIR

These fairs are held every year in memory of fakirs and dervishes of bygone days. Most of these fairs have a historical background.
